Свободным падением называется такое движение тела, когда на него действует только сила тяжести.

При свободном падении ускорение тела направлено вертикально вниз и примерно равно 9,8 м/с2. Это ускорение называется ускорением свободного падения и одинаково для всех тел.

9,8 м/с2 – это означает, что при падении тела его скорость увеличивается на 9,8 м/с за каждую секунду; или при движении тела вверх его скорость уменьшается на 9,8 м/с за каждую секунду. Таким образом, движение тела по вертикали тоже является равноускоренным движением, к этому виду движения тоже можно применить формулы v = v0 + at и s = v0t + аt2/2, правда будут некоторые изменения.

Случай 1. Тело бросили (с какой-то начальной скоростью). s= h, a=g, получим:

v = v0 + gt и h = v0t + gt2/2

Случай 2. Тело падает (без начальной скорости v0=0). s= h, a=g, получим:

v = gt и h = gt2/2

 

Случай 3. Тело бросили вверх (естественно с начальной скоростью). s= h, a= - g, получим:

v = v0 - gt и h = v0t - gt2/2

В этом случае ускорение со знаком «минус», т.к. тело тормозит.
