Мета уроку:

Практична:

тренувати учнів в монологічному, діалогічному мовленні; удосконалювати вміння логічного викладення думки, вираження своєї власної, роботи висновки;

Розвиваючі:

розвивати увагу, логічне мислення, світогляд учнів за рахунок інформації, здобутої за допомогою англійської мови;

Виховні:

виховувати свідоме ставлення до навчання, до проблем, пов’язаних із здоров’ям, пропагувати здоровий спосіб життя та вдосконалювати англійську мову.

Обладнання:

дошка, роздатковий матеріал, комп’ютер, диски з презентаціями, тести, «коробок» з цікавими матеріалами-питаннями.

Тип уроку: Підсумковий урок над проектом.

Objectives

  •  Practical: to train in listening comprehension; to develop communicative skills, using active lexis on the topic, to work with video material, to gain pupils` experience be finding necessary materials from various sources.
  •  Educative: to teach pupils to work in groups and pairs, to motivate them in expressing their own opinions and views on the topic, to teach to work with projects, to teach pupils to collect information and make the conclusions, do Internet search to find out about the children healthy way of life from other countries, to design the publication, to create the website and presentation.
  •  Social: to develop pupils` culture of healthy way of life, taking care of their health and improve the knowledge of English.

Resource used: cards, tests, newspapers, pupils` portfolios, CDs, Articles, posters, a

сomputer, photo, box of “The most interesting questions”.

Procedure

T. Introduction. Greeting.

  1.  Main part

Proclamation of the aim of the lesson

T. The aim of today`s lesson is to sum up the results of working on the project “A sound mind in a sound body”.

Introducing the project

P. At the beginning working on the project we made a box of “The most important questions” and suggested pupils to write down the most important questions for them. Three days ago we have opened the box and summed up the results. The most interesting questions were: “Is it easy to give up smoking?” “When will the swimming pool be built in our willadse”.

The first project group. “BAD HABITS”

P1. We have been working on the problem of bad habits in schools, in Ukraine, in the world. Smoking people have many changes in their appearance. They smell unpleasantly, their teeth are getting yellow.

P2. Smoking is the most preventable cause of death in Ukraine.

P3. We were in local hospital and students gave us much information. We know, that parents play a very important role in a child`s decision whether to smoke or not. Many girls like smoking cigarettes, but they don’t understand the problems of physical, mental, and intellectual development themselves and their future children. The members of our group organized the questionnaire and summed up the results:

  •  42% of pupils don`t smoking;
  •  37% - boys who smoke;
  •  21% - girls who smoke.

P4. Positively negative

  •  We drank for joy and became miserable.
  •  We drank for sociability and became argumentative.
  •  We drank for friendship and made enemies.
  •  We drank for sleep and awakened exhausted.
  •  We drank for strength and felt weak.
  •  We drank for “medicinal purposes” and acquired health problems.

P5. We interviewed people who drink often, and find out their reasons to drink.

About 57% drink because they have problems with job. They have not money and their best friend is alcohol. 37% drink to relax with friends, and 6% don`t know the answer.

P6. There are some rules of Good Health.

  1.  When you get up, air the room.
  2.  Do morning exercises every day.
  3.  Wash to the waist or to take a shower.
  4.  Don`t hurry when you have a meal.
  5.  Work and have an active rest.
  6.  Eat in time.
  7.  Go to bed in time and rise early.

The second project group

P1. Sport and exercises are necessary and very important to every person. If a child doesn`t exercise he can get different illnesses. Daily exercises help to feel refreshed, look well and have a good posture.

P2. If you want to be healthy, strong and beautiful you should go in for sports. If you want to keep yourself fit you should go in for sport regularly. Nobody wants to be fat and weak. When I do my morning exercises I feel wonderful. I try to do some training almost every day. At school we have PT lessons twice a week.

P3. The pupils of our school are the winners of many sport competitions.

P4. Sport makes people healthy, keeps them in fit. The pupils of our school are fond of sports and games. As for me, I`m fond of football.

P5. Our main questions were “Do we eat the healthy food?” “What do children know about vitamins and water?” “Should we keep the diet to be healthy?”.

P6. If a person wants to be good health he must be careful about his diet. If we want to be healthy, and we want, we must use a mixed diet of meat, fats and fruit.

P7. Vitamins play a very important role in human health. When the winter months come our food becomes rather poor of vitamins. We have to take vitamins A, D, C every day.

P8. There are some simple Rules for Health from our group:

  1.  Breathe in as much fresh air as you can.
  2.  Keep your feet dry and warm.
  3.  Keep your body clean.

4.  Clean your teeth twice a day.

5. Take long walks in open air as much as you can.

  1.  Eat healthy food.
  2.  Get plenty of sleep.
