ТЕМА:            DECORATIONS  (ПРИКРАСИ)

МЕТА:

Навчальна:  1)Ввести та відпрацювати нову лексику з теми «Прикраси»,   активізувати її уживання в мові;

                         2) Ознайомити учнів із історією винайдення прикрас та їх початковим призначенням;                  

                         3) Ознайомити учнів із традиційними українськими прикрасами;

                         4) Повторити порядок вживання прикметників в англійській мові;

                         5) Продовжувати роботу по заповненню сторінок учнівського порт фоліо;

                         6) Вчити учнів рекламувати одяг, користуючись багатством лексичного запасу ( прикметники, назви прикрас, власне назви  одягу).

Розвивальна:  1) Розвивати мовну догадку учнів та їх зацікавленість у вивченні теми;

                         2) Збагачувати словниковий запас учнів;

                         3) Розвивати логічне мислення учнів, їх діалогічне мовлення.

Виховна:            Виховувати інтерес до минулого нашого народу, виховувати готовність до практичного використання знань,  культуру спілкування, естетичні смаки учнів, почуття здорової конкуренції.

                    3) Аудіо запис пісні «Start the day with a smile»

                    4) Надрукований на аркуші паперу діалог для етапу уроку           «Warming up»

                     6) Аркуші паперу з виконаним завдання (ex. 6 p.69) Ці аркуші вчитель збирає перед початком уроку.

                      7) Аркуш з написом «Decorations»

                      8) Малюнки до віршів «Zipper», “Blue Bracelet”, “Earings”.

                      9) Іграшкова шкатулка з прикрасами: buttons, bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings, scarf, pocket, sleeve, belt. Малюнки із зображенням цих предметів.

                      10) Картки з лексикою до тексту для читання – ex.7 p.69 – 10шт.

                      11) Презентація в програмі Microsoft Power Point “Традиційні   українські прикраси”.

                      12) Завдання «Match the word with the picture» - для перевірки розуміння матеріалу, представленого в комп’ютерній презентації.

  1.  Check-up of the homework.

1) Playing the dialogues

T: And now be ready to play the dialogues with your partners which you made up at home. You had to extend the dialogue and use as many adjectives as you can.

But at first answer  the questions:

  •  What is the formula of the order of the adjectives in English sentence? What does it mean? The word OPSHACOM will help you to remember the order of the adjectives. “Op” is for opinion, “sh” is for shape, “a”is for age, “c” is for colour, “o” is for origin, “m” is for material. For example:
  •  

  •  So listen to the dialogues and  pay attention on using adjectives in your classmates’ dialogues.

DIALOGUE 1

Lilia: Hi, Yana. Nice to see you. How are you getting on?

Yana: I’m fine, thanks. And you?

Lilia: I’m OK. Wow! You have a nice new red British cotton dress. It suits you perfectly.

Yana: I’m glad you like it. Your lovely Ukrainian blouse is very smart too. Where did you buy it?

Lilia: My mother had a business trip and she bought it in Kyiv.

Yana: Lucky you!

DIALOGUE 2

Dima: Hi, Sasha. I haven’t seen you for ages. How are you?

Sasha: I’m awesome! Nice to see you so much. You have nice smart clothes!

Dima: Thank you for the compliment.

Sasha: Your dark patterned shirt is lovely.

Dima:  I’m glad you like it. Your new British checked shirt is lovely too.

Sasha: Thank you. See you later. I’m in a hurry.

Teacher:

  •  Did the pupils do the task correctly? Were there any mistakes in word order?
  •  Did they extend the dialogues?
  •  Put your dialogues into your portfolios, the Dossier section.

2) The game “Who is this?” – ex.6p.69

(The teacher reads the description of the appearance and pupils try to guess their classmate)

The  girl  is  wearing  dark  suit  white blouse  and  brown  boots. Guess what   her  name is.

3) Comments and evaluation of Vocabulary activity which pupils did last lesson.   Writing down the mark into pupils’ portfolios.

  1.  Introducing the topic of the lesson.

    At this lesson we continue learning the theme “Clothes”. But try to guess our  subtheme.

Listen to some poems and look at the pictures. They will help you to guess the subtheme.

My small 8-year- old daughter like to decorate herself very much. She has got a JEWELRY  BOX. I am sure that all girls who are present here have such box at home. Let’s look what my daughter has got in her jewelry box.

2) Reading  the printed words and labeling  the pictures on the blackboard.

Let’s remember the part of the body where we may wear these decorations. Start like this:

And now let’s make up much more difficult sentences and match the clothes and decorations with the correct part of the body. – Ex.10 p.70

4.Activating the lexis on the topic. Reading. (ex.7 p.69)

1) Pre-reading task.

All decorations have their own origin. Let’s read the article from a fashion magazine

about the origin of decorations. But to understand the text better match the words with their translations.

English teacher: So you see that our ancestors,especially women, wore all kinds of decorations: earrings, necklaces, rings and others. I want to add that coral necklaces were very expensive. For a price of a coral necklace one could buy a cow. Also necklaces were made of gold and silver coins.
